One of the major challenges in implementing a Laboratory Information System (LIS) is its integration with the various laboratory analyzers. LabBook solves this problem with its middleware called "LabBook Connect". This middleware acts as a bridge between the LIS and laboratory PLCs, enabling seamless data transfer and integration.
LabBook Connect will support various communication protocols such as HL7 and ASTM, enabling integration with a wide range of laboratory analyzers from different manufacturers. To connect a new analyzer, LabBook Connect will require the development of an interface that adheres to the communication protocol supported by the analyzer. This interface will be then integrated into LabBook Connect, enabling bidirectional communication between the LIS and the analyzer.
Launch end 2024 / beginning 2025
Here is the list of analyzers supported by LabBook Connect V1:
- Cepheid GeneXpert;
- MINDRAY BS 200E, 240E, 300E, 360E, BA-88A, BC 2800, 3200, 5300;
- SYSMEX XN-1000, XN-L550, XP-300, CA 600, XN-L 350
- Roche or Abbott
Once the connection is established, LabBook Connect automates the transfer of data between the analyzer and the LIS, eliminating the need for manual data entry and reducing the risk of transcription errors. Additionally, LabBook Connect enables real-time monitoring of analyzers, allowing lab staff to track the status of each analysis and identify potential issues in real-time.
